  • My Adventure with Babylon 5 has begun!

I grew up watching the show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and it was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I had heard of Babylon 5 and knew that it was similar, and eventually I did see random clips here or there of the show but not really enough to know much about it.

Well now I’m an adult, and with the time and ability to correct this mistake I’ve decided to sit down and work through Babylon 5 to see what I missed out on.

So my Adventure began the other day with watching the 1993 Pilot Movie for the show “The Gathering’. I really enjoyed it, and was impressed with now only how well it was written but with how quickly I was drawn in hooked into the story. I now will be moving on to the Season 1 storyline and I’m very excited!

  • To Journal or Not To Journal? I guess…..

For years now I have tried to keep a private journal, and never been truly successful with it. It seems like I get into it and write consistently at least for a few days, but then fall out of the routine and then struggle with picking it back up, until the journal gets tossed into the corner on top of the stack of other partially filled journals that have also been abandoned with time and that are now collecting dust. I have tried both digital and physical journals, with the same outcome, abandonment once my brain decides it’s had enough and I forget about it.

Frustratingly though, I know that Journaling really helps me mentally and if I could just stick with it, I think it would be super beneficial. So once again I’m going to try and journal. This time I’m going to set a “strict” rule with myself that I need to write at least something, even something minor, at least once a day. Hopefully this goes better than the 1000 other times!

  • Hobbies, Hobbies, Hobbies?

An unoriginal quote that I use often is that “my hobby is that I collect hobbies”. This might be unoriginal, but at least for me it’s very true. I pick up a new hobby, get super into it, invest time and money into it (hopefully not a lot of money, but not always) and maybe a for a few months at the most it’s all that my life revolves around. Then after that, I drop the hobby, and I may come back to it someday or I may never visit it again.

This used to bother me, and it felt like a failure on my part, but with time I’ve accepted that this quirk is just part of who I am. I love to learn new things, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Some of the various hobbies I have gone through somewhat recently have included Embroidery, Board Games, Solo Board Games, Solo RPG TTRPGs, along with various other random things I’ve dabbled in. I’ve also thought about getting into building these things called “Book nooks”, but they are just way too pricey for me (this Dragon Library is right around $33).

That’s how I ended up coming back to the blog. I decided it’d be good for me to return to blogging, not only do I enjoy it whenever I do it regularly, but it’s also free which is a huge bonus! I’m not sure what all I will be putting on here, but I know that I want to post on a regular schedule. Wish me luck!

  • Let’s Start Over Again!

I took a break from the blog, and that ended up being a big mistake, because when I came back I was locked out due to my forgetful brain! So let’s start this all over and have some fun!
